Q. Can safety nets be fixed to any type of surfaces?

Surfaces must be in good condition and there should be no humidity or cracks. The anchorage will be secured on the surface around the area to be protected. The surface must be strong so it does not give away when there is a strong impact against the safety nets .
Some surfaces are more fragile than others. (E.g. Gyprock / hollow bricks and others). They require special anchors and screws.
Surfaces have to be strong enough to offer the right resistance.

ABESTOS DANGER: Always find out what kind of surface(s) is around the perimeter of every area you wish to protect before you buy the system. Drilling on asbestos will be dangerous to the installer and to everyone living in the property.

Q. How often are we supposed to replace the mesh?

Highly rated entities such as INTI (Instituto Nacional de Tecnologia Industrial) and The International Construction Institute AIDICO (Instituto Tecnológico de la Construcción), from Spain, have evaluated the ageing process of our safety netting system. The tests considered exposure to sun, humidity, water, extreme cold and hot weather. A durability of 2 to 4 years was estimated for Safety Nets For Life® safety netting system.
Our safety nets do not filter smog or other corrosives.
We offer 2 years product warranty for the system.
Ageing tests always considering the worst case scenario, so after that time the net condition should be verified from time to time. You will certainly notice if the net has started to show deterioration signs.

Q. Are safety nets easily disassembled (e.g. to fix an air conditioner)?

Yes, the safety nets can be disassembled and reinstalled easily. The user should pay attention not to cut the net while removing it. Safety Nets For Life® also offers the service of removing the safety nets (Sydney only).

Q. How strong are the nets – how much weight can they hold?

A.The safety nets and profiles have been subject to INTI strength tests, resulting in a radial resistance of 140/m2.
This is the evaluated resistance of the net as a whole (climbing it is absolutely not recommended).
Each diamond resists 17kg (transparent net).

Q. Can the net be installed in a roofless balcony?

Yes. If your balcony is not under cover, then you need a frame built and firmly secured on the building. Then, the safety nets are installed on the frame. The frame can be built in wood (treated to resist outside conditions) or aluminium. The frame must be approximately 1.70 to 2 meters high (statutory minimum height) to hold the safety nets in place securely.

Are there any safety precautions?

•Do not climb on the safety nets.

•Heat sources can melt or damage the safety nets. Never place any heat source near the safety nets. Barbecues should be kept at least one meter away from the system.

•Sharp blades can cut or damage the safety nets.

•Do not use cleaning products on the safety nets.

•Parents and caregivers should use the nets as a precaution but they have to always keep an eye on their children.

Can the safety nets be used to protect swimming pools?

This use is certainly not recommended. Should our product be used in swimming pool areas it will be exposed to chlorine, animal bites, lawn mowers, which may damage it.
